How Much Filler Will I Need?

Will Dermal Filler Hurt?
Keeping you comfortable is an important part of your treatment experience.
Before filler treatment begins, a topical anesthetic cream is applied to the treatment area and typically sits for about 30 minutes. During this time, your provider can review your consent forms, aftercare instructions, and the important do’s and don’ts following treatment.
Throughout your appointment, your provider will also continue checking in with you to make sure you’re comfortable.
Will I Bruise After Filler?
Some patients may experience a small bruise following filler injections, while others may not bruise at all. Unfortunately, there’s no way to predict exactly how your body will respond ahead of time.
Your provider will discuss what to expect after your appointment and provide guidance for your aftercare. There are also medication options that may help you heal faster.
If you have an important event or vacation approaching, be sure to mention it during your consultation. This allows your provider to consider your schedule when creating your treatment plan.
When Will I See My Filler Results?
You may notice a difference somewhat immediately after filler treatment. However, it’s important to remember that swelling is also part of the initial healing process.
For that reason, we typically want to allow about two to four weeks after your initial treatment before assessing your results.
Giving the area time to heal provides a more accurate picture of your final outcome. At that point, you and your provider can evaluate your results together and discuss whether any next steps are needed.
