At bŏdze, we believe in a personalized approach to aesthetic treatments, ensuring that every patient receives natural-looking, confidence-boosting results. Botox is one of the most effective and widely used treatments for reducing dynamic wrinkles and achieving a refreshed, youthful appearance. However, understanding the right Botox dosage for different areas of the face is key to optimal results.

This guide will walk you through the recommended Botox dosing for the most commonly treated areas, what to expect from the treatment, and how to ensure long-lasting results.

How Botox Works

Botox (Botulinum Toxin Type A) is a wrinkle relaxer that temporarily blocks nerve signals to targeted muscles, preventing them from contracting and forming wrinkles. The result? A smoother, more youthful-looking complexion.

Botox takes about 3 to 7 days to show effects, with full results appearing around two weeks after treatment. Results typically last 3 to 4 months, depending on the individual and the treated area.

Recommended Botox Dosage by Area

While Botox dosage is customized based on each patient’s muscle strength, skin condition, and aesthetic goals, the following are standard starting doses:

1. Forehead (Frontalis) – 20 Units
  • The forehead is one of the most common areas treated with Botox.
  • Over-treating this area can lead to a heavy brow or an unnatural look, a balanced approach is key.
  • Recommended starting dose: 20 units (customized for each individual and can vary depending on wrinkle severity).
2. Frown Lines (Glabella) – 20 Units
  • The glabella is the area between the eyebrows, where deep frown lines tend to form.
  • Treating this area softens lines and prevents them from deepening over time.
  • Recommended starting dose: 20 units (customized based on individual muscle movement).
3. Crow’s Feet (Zygomatic Arch) – 12 Units Per Side
  • These are the fine lines that form at the outer corners of the eyes due to smiling and squinting.
  • Botox helps relax these muscles while preserving a natural-looking smile.
  • Recommended starting dose: 12 units per side (can vary depending on wrinkle severity and muscle strength).
Customizing Your Botox Treatment

While these doses are general guidelines, bŏdze’s expert injectors will assess your individual needs to determine the best approach for natural, balanced results. Some patients may need higher or lower doses based on:

  • Muscle strength and movement
  • Age and skin elasticity
  • Desired level of correction
  • Past Botox treatments and resistance levels
